Nothing says “summer” like a good old fashioned yard sale. On Saturday, July 12, Engel & Völkers Ottawa Central held one of our own to support the Engel & Völkers Shelter Foundation and raise money for the Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter.
Thanks to the support of our fantastic Wellington West neighbours, we were able to raise over $300 toward our $10,000 goal.
What is the Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter?
The Machu Picchu Challenge for Shelter is a cause led by the Engel & Völkers Shelter Foundation. Engel & Völkers team members—including Engel & Völkers Ottawa Central—have pledged to raise $10,000 to fund local women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. If this goal is reached, participants will spend eight days in Machu Picchu trekking at high altitude, camping in tents, and forgoing showers, electricity, and cell service for an incredible, transformative experience.
How can you help?
If you missed our event last Saturday, fear not! We’re hosting another yard sale this Saturday, July 19 from 9:30-11:30am to raise even more money for the cause. If you can’t stop by this weekend either, donations can be made directly to our Machu Picchu fundraising page. Every dollar counts, and we greatly appreciate all donations.
