Farmer’s Markets are great, right? Local vendors get to set up shop to showcase their locally grown and crafted products to the public while interacting with and educating consumers on loving local. Imagine that, but for beer. Awesome. Welcome the Brewery Market to Ottawa this Sunday, October 20th!
Cass Enright, the mastermind behind the concept, held his first Brewery Market in May 2011 in Toronto, and lucky for us, he’s decided to bring the excitement to Ottawa this fall. The Market will be an opportunity for people to taste delicious craft beers and rub shoulders with the brewmasters behind them!
Ottawa has a growing and promising craft beer scene with so many new and exciting breweries that have opened their doors, and starting pouring their taps in the last couple of years. This comes as no surprise either. Ottawa has a deep history when it comes to the art of brewing, so it’s of no astonishment that we’re seeing such an upbeat and enthusiastic resurgence of local independent beer production in the capital region today.
This city loves and appreciates good beer. This can be seen just by skimming menus at local restaurants, pubs, and even some nightclubs. Ottawans love supporting local, craft breweries. Not just because they’re local, but because they’re amazing! We’re lucky to live in a region of Ontario where the art of brewing is as thriving and impressive as in the Ottawa area.
The Brewery Market will be held at the Parkdale Park (just behind the Parkdale Market) in Hintonburg this Sunday, October 20th from noon-8pm. There you’ll have the opportunity to sample beers from 10 Brewers that will be showcasing their carefully selected varieties of beer. On the Roster for this weekend are Ashton, Kitchesippi, Beau’s, Clocktower, Mill Street, Hogsback, Barley Days, Flying Monkey, and new comers Beyond the Pale and Whitewater.
